Red Bull Media House GmbH
The impressive immersive Formula 1 exhibition is touring cities all over the world. For its stop in Vienna, we worked with Suprcon to develop an interactive video booth for ServusTV. In this booth, everyone can slip into the role of a Formula 1 commentator and put their presenting skills to the test. Each contribution is recorded with a professional headset and green screen and anyone who wants to can then apply to ServusTV as a junior commentator.
Speed is everything
Anyone who has ever tried to commentate on the start of a Formula 1 race knows that presenting is also about speed. You can show off your presenting skills for 45 seconds in the videobooth and you can't skimp on words to describe the action properly.
From a technical point of view, the biggest challenge with this installation was the recording and processing of images and sound. In order to be as flexible as possible when using the recordings, both the original video with the pure microphone signal and a fully rendered video with the moderation and the background noise of the race are saved. These recordings are encoded in a background process and copied to the server. There they can be assigned to the respective broadcaster via a unique ID.
