News from atuin.media: We report on our projects, what new things we are trying out and where you can meet us.

What would happen if we had to manage without US software for just one day?
This was the question that started it all. Triggered by the global political situation, it sparked an important thought process for us a few months ago.
This was followed by other key questions: Where is our most important data stored (documents, emails, documentation, our entire company know-how)? Does this data really belong to us? Who has access to it? Which services can we actually switch over? How will our internal and external digital communication work in the future?
These considerations gave rise to our digital independence initiative.
First step – already successfully implemented: Away from Microsoft OneDrive, towards Nextcloud Files. Completely under our own control – hosted by IONOS in Germany.
A nice side effect: We are also saving licence costs in the medium and long term.

What is your number one?
Since December 2025, visitors to the Residenzgalerie Salzburg in the DomQuartier Salzburg have been able to discover a new exhibition on the theme of "Bestsellers. Audience favourites".
On display are the most popular paintings from different genres – genuine audience favourites.
At the end of the exhibition, visitors can once again choose from the five top paintings and vote for their personal favourite.
Many thanks to the DomQuartier Salzburg, especially Astrid Ducke and Thomas Habersatter, for the pleasant and uncomplicated cooperation.
And, of course, a big thank you to our Lead Frontend Developer Robert Leitl for the excellent design and implementation, as always!

Price game – a product from atuin at the career information fair in Salzburg
Two weeks ago, the career information fair (BIM) took place in Salzburg. Young people had the opportunity to find out about careers and employers at numerous stands.
At the "Talent Check" stand of the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce, there was something special to discover: an interactive display that teaches young people how prices are determined and what impact pricing decisions have on all of us.
Soon, these and many other exciting applications will also be available to try out at the Career Experience World at WIFI Salzburg.

For the interactive special exhibition ‘ALL.TÄGLICH!’ at the Haus der Natur in Salzburg, we developed the software for two digital stations on the topic of satellite data. Thanks to our solution, visitors can playfully experience how satellite technologies influence our everyday lives on Earth and also support organisations such as ‘Ärzte ohne Grenzen’.

Tibor is studying Multimedia Technology at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and is completing an internship with us as a full stack developer.
Insights & background He began his professional career as a graphic designer in Linz, later moving to Salzburg as a Customer Success & Technical Integrations Manager. Before his internship, Tibor spent a semester abroad at Bowling Green State University (USA) – an experience that shaped him both professionally and personally. Now he is continuing his journey as a developer at atuin.media.
Why atuin.media? In recent years, Tibor has gained experience in various roles in SaaS, customer support, and project management. He knows that he grows best in teams that are friendly, hands-on, and open—and that's exactly what he felt at atuin.media from day one. With this foundation, he now wants to help shape projects that are creative, user-friendly, and technically challenging.

Software from atuin.media also at the Salzburg City Festival!
We are thrilled that the interactive video booth has once again been used successfully! The ServusTV Commentator Challenge was an absolute highlight at the first Salzburg City Festival. We are delighted that so many visitors took up the challenge and participated (875 recordings in just 2 days) and that the Video Booth survived its first outdoor use well.

Our digital installation lets everyone explore sensitive historical books in detail.
For the exhibition ‘Face to Face. Austrian portrait painting of the 19th century’ (Face to Face) at the DomQuartier Salzburg, we were asked to create a digital solution focusing on portrait photography.
At the heart of the installation are the “Musterbücher” (sample books) by Ludwig Angerer, from the Wien Museum collection. The historic albums feature portraits of well-known Austrian and international figures - rare documents of their time. Our installation allows visitor to browse through these books digitally, without risking damage to the originals.
After working closely with the curators, we prepared the data and adapted our tried-and-tested Libro technology. The software runs on existing hardware from previous projects - saving resources and time. On-site setup was completed in just 30 minutes.
In this way, we create a new, sustainable exhibition experience with the means at hand - right next to the real book, which remains protected.

We are particularly proud of the interactive intro animation. Thanks to Three.js and TSL (Three.js Shading Language), it supports WebGL and WebGPU and is therefore fit for the future.

A day full of inspiration at mm Neugack! Atuin Media GmbH, represented by Markus Bergetschwandtner and Oliver Jovanović, was allowed to visit #MM #MM #Neupack #GmbH in Hirschwang an der Rax today. We had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the managing director Christoph Hofer and gain exciting insights into the #produken.
The tour of the production halls was impressive - from the #efficiency of the processes to the high #quality of the #products.

🚀 Successful project completed in Hesse! 🌊
We look forward to announcing the completion of an exciting project in Hesse! 🏞️ Together with Stefan Macala, who realized the impressive wood structure, we have developed a state -of -the -art flood simulation for the Kühkopf treasure parlor.
🎛️ Our contribution included the provision and installation of the screens, operated with a player from Brightsign LLC. Our team member Oliver not only ensured the perfect commissioning on site, but also for proper cabling.

🎓 New tutorial from our CCO Robert Leitl on Codrops! 🚀
We look forward to being able to present a brand new tutorial of our Chief Creative Officer Robert Leitl! In his latest post on Codrops, Robert immerses deep into the topic of reaction diffusion Compute Shader in WebGPU.
What is webgPU?
WebGPU is a great progress in web graphics technology that enables the GPU of a device to use an extended rendering skills. This new API was first introduced in Google Chrome in April 2023 and is also to gain a foothold in other browsers such as Safari and Firefox.
Tutorial highlights:
• Compute Shader for image effects: Robert shows how to use Compute Shader for image effects, especially for reaction diffusion algorithms.
• Program structure: Explanation of the WebGPU pipelines and the use of the webppu utils and float16 libraries.
• Reaction diffusion simulation: Detailed steps to initialize and execute the simulation on the GPU.
• Optimization tips: techniques such as texture ping ponging ”, pixel cache and bilinear sampling for optimal performance.
Robert also shares valuable resources and recommendations for beginners to enable a solid entry into the web. This tutorial is a must for all developers who are interested in advanced web graphics and GPU computing!

One of our core competencies is graphics programming on the web with #webgl. With this technology we have already implemented many interactive web components and projects for exhibitions and visitor centers. Now there is a successor: #webgpu. With #webgPU it is possible to carry out general calculations on the GPU - a performance never existed can be achieved using parallel computing.
Our lead frontend Developer Robert Leitl has already done a first experiment with this latest technology.

With Continuous Deployment in connection with Kubernetes, we can quickly react to the requirements of our customers. On our Grafana dashboard in the office, we always have all the important key figures in our virtual servers in view and can react immediately if necessary. 🛠️📊

Resourceful graphics programmers have developed a simple but convincing technology in order to present such vessels as realistically as possible. In our small web experiment, one of these techniques is implemented with some additional tricks to present and encourage a futuristic fuel cell. 🧙‍♂️🕹️

Together with our partner RS - Innotech, we have realized a total of four stations on which a digital ”Johann Rudolf Graf Czernin von and in Chudenitz tells more about the works from his collection. The videos for this were made by Degn Film. 👩‍🎨🖼️

Who knows what a dodo is? The unique bird can be admired as part of the Birds special exhibition in the Haus der Natur Salzburg, in which the wonderful works of the artist Nikola Irmer can be seen.
In order to give visitors the opportunity to explore this amazing bird virtually, we were allowed to develop an interactive 3D application with an additional abundance of exciting facts and multimedia content about the Dodo.
At Alice in Wonderland ”the Dodo also occurs. The author of this famous children's book apparently fascinated and inspired this amazing bird.
Therefore into the house of nature! 🎨🖥️
