DomQuartier Salzburg
As part of the special exhibition ‘Face to Face. Austrian portrait painting of the 19th century’ in the DomQuartier Salzburg, we were asked to realise a digital installation on the subject of portrait photography.
At the centre of the installation are the “Musterbücher” (sample books) of the photographer Ludwig Angerer from the Wien Museum's extensive online collection. These extraordinary historical documents offer a unique insight into the history and culture of portrait photography. With the help of our installation, visitors have the opportunity to digitally explore these extraordinary books with portraits of Austrian and foreign celebrities.
The many-sided Libro
Once the screen design had been finalised with the DomQuartier curators, the next step was to prepare the Wien Museum's online collection data for our purposes.
We relied on our tried-and-tested Libro technology for implementation. With a few customised modifications and additional functions, we achieved the desired result in a very short time. It was also confirmed that Libro is ideally suited for continuous use in the exhibition area on stable BrightSign hardware.

Same hardware — new experience
Our digital version of the sample books now stands in the exhibition right next to one of the three historical originals. Unfortunately, the latter cannot be leafed through by visitors in order to keep it in the best possible condition.
We installed our software on existing hardware from previous projects - this means that this hardware can be used for many projects for as long as possible. And commissioning on site was completed in half an hour.
